For years, the Initiative Office of Montenegro has been regionally working on facing the past and introducing its citizens with what was happening in our country and in the region countries during the 1990s.
We are constantly working on the process of dealing with the past, which is often a difficult job, because this tendency does not coincide with the national policy that rather tries to cover up and ignore such events at our territory.
Jointly with YIHR offices in the region, we worked on organization of regional exchanges of young people from Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. They had the opportunity to visit places where war crimes took place in the 1990s, which is the reason of hatred and prejudice even today among the older and younger population, in order to inform them.
